Hello there! The tour in Japan with B'Z is moving right along. This band is, as usual, amazing! and I am very honored to be part of it. We are touring for the new album called C'mon" and recently played in Sendai, which is the area that was hit very badly in the tsunami/earthquake in March. We saw a lot of the damage. Lots of areas where houses once were, now there is nothing. a very sad sight to see. We played two benefit concerts in Sendai and I hope we were able to help. In the words of Koshi Inaba from the B'Z song "Brotherhood" .... "We'll be alright"
On this tour I am using my brand new "Barry Sparks" signature bass by E.S.P! It is an exact replica of my number one bass of the last few years, which is the custom bass my brother made for me. It comes in vintage white (my fave guitar color) with binding on the body and neck and also comes with Seymour Duncan pickups. (my fave pickups) all in all this bass was born to rock. I absolutely love it! Thank you E.S.P for the very fine craftsmanship.
Now, onto the biggest and greatest news of all....
(drum roll please…) My family and I are very happy to announce the arrival of our newest family member... introducing... our son! "Dennis Barry Sparks." He was born in Italy on Sept 8th. He is doing just great! and our daughter Serena is a very happy big sister (so far!) and as for mom and dad...well, we could not be happier! He is a super handsome little young man! Ready to take on the world! Here is a picture of our little bundle of joy!

Thanks for checking out my site!
All the best, keep rockin'!

Hello there! Well it’s been a very busy year so far. Let’s see if i can even remember what’s been going on…
Oh yes, just recently finished a east coast American tour with UFO, highlights would be of course the gig in Chicago… always the best town for a UFO show. Also toured all over Germany and we played an awesome outdoor rock festival in France alongside Thin Lizzy, Black Label society and Scorpions.
B’Z New CD “C,mon” is out in Japan. Of course once again, it is a great album and The Grammy award winning Tak Matsumoto is playing guitar as good as ever. He is one of my favorite guitarists for sure and Koshi Inaba is one of the best front man singers alive! Shane Gaalaas, my fave drummer, always gets better and better every year. We just played 3 sold out shows in America - Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles where the entire concert was streamed live on the internet for something like a quarter of a million people!
In between all of this we filmed a few videos for the new songs Don’t Wanna Lie and Cmon…and check out the new Pepsi commercial featuring B’Z! All here on B’Z official Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Bz
And my biggest fan, my beautiful little girl Serena Sparks has been touring the world and has been having a blast the whole time. Her latest favorite songs are “On the floor” by J Lo and “Price Tag” by Jesse J. She also loves anything about Ariel from little Mermaid. The biggest news now is that my wife and I are very excitedly waiting for our little boy to be born very soon! We both can’t wait and I am pretty sure we will have another little rocker on our hands!
Here is a picture of Serena, thanks for stopping by!

All the best!

Hello there,
Thanks for checkin out my website! I spent the summer touring Europe with UFO...memorable moments may include: Germany, which is always great and this time we were able to squeeze in some sightseeing. The high Voltage Festival in London had us playing alongside some great bands like: ELP, Joe Elliott, Marillion etc.. Once we got a few technical problems ironed out the show was a blast! Playing with UFO is
always a thrill! Vinnie Moore is a spectacular guitarist; Andy Parker is a rock solid drummer! Phil Mogg is singing better than ever and Paul Raymond has always given UFO that genuine British feel! And congrats on your wedding Paul! I’m also very excited because its already time to start another European tour with UFO!
For you BZ fans, I’m anxiously waiting to begin working on their next project! They have been very busy with their solo albums which are doing very well in Japan. As usual, many thanks go out to the very supportive fans who enable me to do this fun job year after year! And a tip of the hat goes to these fine companies...
Sparks guitars
Yamaha musical instruments
E.S.P.guitars
Carvin guitars
S.I.T. strings
Seymour Duncan pickups
Spectraflex cables
My daughter Serena would like to thanks this fine company too:
Chicco baby strollers (mile after mile from Europe to Japan, it keeps my baby on the road!)
I would like to finish this update and leave you with a pic of my two beautiful girls, my wife and my baby girl Serena. And of course, thanks to the equally beautiful Aaron Chavez for running this site!

All the best!

Hello, I just got back from Japan. I have been touring with B'Z for a few months on the "Ain't No Magic" tour, where we performed for around a half million people. Each concert was around 50,000 people per night! It was as usual with B'Z, a mind blowing experience! Playing for that many people every night is unreal and never gets old. This year B'Z raised the bar even higher! The show had the most amazing stage I have ever played on.... or even seen! The entire stage was "see thru" and raised up to around 40 feet in the air and moved over the audience's heads through out the entire venue! Maybe it will make the Guinness book of world records!
I also want to thank all the great Japanese fans for the nice gifts for my daughter Serena! She is my 4 month old little rock star! I want to thank Yamaha for the great BB3000 5 string bass and also E.S.P for the Phoenix 2- 4 string basses. They all have excellent tone and play great, and of course, my Sparks basses also made an appearance.
I will be touring with U.F.O in Europe very soon, check U.F.O's website for tour dates. I am of course excited to play with my good friends Phil, Andy, Paul and Vinnie. Great music, great band.
My Daughter Serena recently made the cover of "Baby World Traveler magazine" here is the cover shot!

Thanks for stopping by, all the best!

Hello! Well I guess it’s about time I add some news here!
I just recently finished another tour in Japan with B'Z..."In your town" showcase tour. We played a lot of the smaller towns and of course they all sold out as usual! We had a great time. Also filmed a video for the new B'Z single "My lonely town" this was filmed on a small deserted island a few miles offshore from Nagasaki. Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0CjjWGKeTE Once again my hat goes off to Tak and Koshi! These guys are amazing and I am very happy to be a part of this great band. We ended the tour with two headlining gigs at "Summer Sonic", Japans largest rock festival. The festival featured everyone from Beyonce to Linkin Park and we had a great time and a great gig! I also want to thank the people at Carvin guitars for the great 5 string bass I just got. The new SB5000! It has a great new look and of course great tone. Check it out a www.carvin.com.
Now for the big, big, news! … My wife and I are very happy to announce the birth of our new baby
girl! Her name is Serena Marie Sparks, she was born in Italy on Nov 13th and is the cutest baby in the whole world! Even at one month old she can't stop rockin! Watch out rock n rollers, here she comes!

Thanks for the support!
All the best,

Howdy Folks, I received this e-mail today.... and I just wish I had written it! Who needs Hilary when we have this lady out there? She rocks and would get my vote anyday!
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and -you guessed it – I don't care!!”
God Bless America!

Hello!
As usual I am way overdue for an update on here!...first off, I want to thank everybody who helped with our "Liberty" project. The good people at Fort Bliss in El Paso were amazing, we had a great time strumming guitars and meeting some of our bravest most badass, ass kicking soldiers. thank you for risking life and limb for us wimpy civilians!
We then headed across the border to Chihuahua, Mexico....enter...Mr. El Baracho!!! (that’s me by the way) I want to thank everyone involved there...especially.. my band...Kevin, John, Roger.. and also Aaron Chavez, Alex and Claudia. The show there was one of my favorite ever I think! Better yet, we recorded the night for an upcoming live cd! …. Depending on how many Coronas I had that night......will determine the out come! Let’s hope for the best! on another note....while racing to the El Paso airport we had no other choice than to pile at least 8 people plus all our gear a goat, two chickens and two Mexican hookers into one single cab! aaaah its such a glamorous life!
Ok folks thank you very much for supporting me in my eternal quest for the magic of music.... Wow, I sound like zamfir.,... or Jon Anderson of Yes. Anyhow thank you again and see you on the road in 2007.. with Dokken, Ted Nugent or my boys....The Barry Sparks Band! All the best...oh yeah Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As most of you know, on the morning of September 11, 2001 I wrote a very patriotic song titled "Liberty". This song is featured on my CD "Can't Look Back" with Ted Nugent playing lead guitar. Several of my military friends/fans have encouraged me to produce and distribute a CD featuring "Liberty" to our troops in Iraq as a gift to help boost their morale. It will also be distributed at military bases around the country during my bands performances.
We are asking for your donations of any amount to assist with the production and distribution of the CDs to our troops. I will personally autograph all the CD’s before they are distributed.
Military (acquaintances) personnel have volunteered to assist with distribution. 100% of all donations will be applied toward production and distribution of the CDs. Your donations are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Aaron Chavez at amchavez1@aol.com.
If you wish to donate by Credit/Debit Card, please click on the "Make a Donation" button below. If you wish to submit a donation via Check or Money order, please make all Checks/Money Orders payable to "Aaron Chavez" (manager) and mail them to the address below:

Hello, Its been forever since I have updated all of this, so here goes... the last few months are just a blur! Where have I been? I have no idea? oh yes I do remember something about a European Ted Nugent Tour, Yes! We went to Europe and absolutely killed! Also went to Greece and all over Mexico with Dokken somewhere in between all of this. I am now on tour in the U.S.A with Ted Nugent. Things are good. The shows of course are going amazingly well, as they always do with Ted, anything Ted does pretty much works like a fine tuned machine! Unfortunately I was sick as a dog the last few weeks, after going to the Emergency room three times I figured out I had Bronchitis, I couldn’t breathe half the time and it sucked all out all of my energy. I want to apologize to Louisville, horrible night for me, it was enough to just stand up and play, so I didn’t really put on much of a show that night, but I didn’t fall down either! That’s good. I feel much better now and can say the last few shows have been very good!
I have some Barry Sparks Band shows coming up in Sept. as well some Dokken shows in Mexico! Keep checking my site for the details.
I am very happy to be back on my feet again! I want to thank you all for the great emails about the shows and of course your continued support! All the best to you!
See ya on the road soon!

Ok geez where do I begin?, I am way behind here....alright, first I want to thank my band for working so hard on our little jaunt up the west coast. We had a few amazing nights...a few not so amazing, but all in all "what the hell its rock n roll right?" Portland and Longview were both in the amazing night category. This trip for me was a real eye opener but also a great learning experience. ( I think I might be getting good at this!)
After coming home a few days I was already on my way to Mexico with Dokken. without any rehearsal, We didn't miss a lick!! We absolutely destroyed Mexico!! What a blast. I loved it all. Tomorrow morning I fly to Greece for three Dokken shows, Having been to Greece before I can say that much fun is waiting to be had. I get home May 9th, have one day off then head to Crawford Texas for Ted Nugent rehearsals for around 10 days, After he whips us into fine shape we fly to Europe for three weeks or so. I am sure Europe will never be the same again!! Then of course we tour the good ol USA all summer.
I want to thank all of you who have supported me all these years! I feel very fortunate to be able to do what I love as a profession. How cool is that? I hope to continue for many more to come. ok I am off to Greece..................bye bye!

2006 has started off great so far! Our jaunt into New Mexico went amazingly well and we are already adding more shows for next month. I was also very surprised when Don Dokken and Jon Levin showed up in Santa Fe, So I did the most logical thing...add an acoustic Dokken set into my show! very cool!
If you are at the NAAM show in Anaheim this month make sure you stop by the Carvin Guitars booth, I will be playing the brand new Carvin Bass each day for a half hour or so. Come on up and say hello!
Also, If you have been watching the "Tour dates" page, you may have noticed we are constantly adding more and more "Barry Sparks Band" shows. We will be becoming regulars in New Mexico and also expect to see us travel all the way up the west coast the first part of April. I hope to see you there!
I am also planning to start recording my new cd tentatively titled "Summerland" in Feb.. as I have new songs begging to be recorded and I must obey the music, or it becomes very angry!
Happy 2006 to you!
